See photographic images and site maps of the affected zones on the Cycleway affected by the cleaning. This Friday 23rd August the Te Awa Cycleway will be sprayed with 'Wet and Forget' which will affect walkers, dogs and bicyclists.
The sections of the Cycle Way affected are as follows:
Strip along from the Tamahere shops
Strip along Tamahere Drove outside the car restorers business
Pencarrow Hooker Road Corner Hooker Rd to entrance to Te Awa Cycleway
Bamboo corner section
Behind Neill Porrit's home leading to the boardwalk.
The supplier has warned if a dog were to walk through Wet and Forget before it dries, and then lick its paws, it may experience stomach upset.
The contractor will do the work this Friday 23rd of August, weather dependent, and if it is a nice day, the product will dry within two hours. If overcast, drying may take a bit longer.
There are also concerns part of the track does not get much sun so contractors are taking this into consideration.
There will be signs out.
Any changes or further developments affecting this cleaning work on the Te Awa Cycleway will be notified here.
