The WDC is wanting to 'update' Water Supply By-Laws to give them more control over every aspect of water supply in the district. This affects members of the Tamahere Ward - residential, rural, commercial and industrial.
Your Chairman, Charles Fletcher has done a wonderful job running an analysis of the WDC's draft and the TCC Submission is available for download below. There is also a link for your input which will form part of the oral presentation process undertaken by the Committee.
Here is what Charles has to say about this process and this particular submission:
An important contribution Tamahere Community Committee makes to our local community is interaction with the Waikato District Council. The Council invites comments and submissions on numerous issues and we respond as best we can on behalf of ratepayers and residents as a community group.
Council is proposing to make a new Water Supply Bylaw 2023, rules for protecting the water supply and ensuring a supply of ‘potable’ (drinking) water to ratepayers connected to a water supply system.

TCC has reviewed this and responded with a submission, because what has been proposed seems to overstep the mark of what is needed or necessary
You are invited to tell us if you agree or not, so we can shape our oral presentation at the Council hearing.
